approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Corporal Martin
Anderson (ASN: 2986458), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding
General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a
silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded
him. Corporal Anderson distinguished himself by gallantry in action
while serving with Company H, 339th Infantry Regiment, 85th Division,
American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Bolsheozerka, Russia, 23
March 1919, while keeping his Lewis gun in action, although exposed to
heavy enemy fire.

Engineer Regiment, 85th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in
action near Obozerskaya, Russia, on 3 November 1918, while bringing in
enemy wounded to the dressing station under shell fire.
