Note: The USS LST-847 armament differed from the standard listed above. The 3"/50 stern-mounted gun was never installed since it was learned from LST's built earlier in this class that when that gun was fired, all of the light bulbs in the crew quarters would shatter from the vibrations. The LST-847 had twin 40mm guns with the MK5 director mounted on the bow and stern of the ship as well as four single 40mm guns mounted elsewhere. (Source: Fred Kendall).
